I don't know if this is old news or not, but I just found out today that Valerie Tripp will be coming to AGPLA on September 23rd. I am very excited about this since she is the author of many AG historical books (including Molly's).

I tried to ask the AGPLA concierge if they could give me more information about the event (like the time she'll be there, etc.), but they said they weren't really sure. They advised me to keep checking the AGPLA event website to look for any updated information.

Has anyone ever been to a Valerie Tripp event before? What was it like? Are the lines long to meet her? I really would love it if I could get her to autograph one of my books (and it would be an extra special treat since she is coming to LA right before my birthday ).

I hope this information was helpful!

[edit] Okay, I just checked the AGPLA event site for anything about Valerie Tripp. As of now, nothing about her is posted, but I got this information on AGPLA's event schedule brochure at the store, so this is indeed real.

Oooh, great news! I've never been to see Valerie Tripp before, but Connie Porter did visit my local Zany Brainy store back when Addy was first introduced. The line was pretty long for her book-signing, but I remember it being a lot of fun, too, since there were other people I knew in line and everyone around us was nice and we all talked and had a lot of fun while we waited.

Cool! That sounds like it'll be a lot of fun! I remember she came to AGPNY and signed Very Funny, Elizabeth! and some of Felciity's books, it was a very special day.

I forgot to mention this earlier, but the AGPLA schedule I got said the author Mary Casanova is coming on August 13th. Her visit is not mentioned on the events website as of yet, although I hope they will put up info. I don't know who she is, though. What did she write? I'm guessing one of the Sam books...

Here is a pic of the rest of the schedule for anyone who is curious:

Mary Casanova wrote one of the GoML books and the Jess book.
I've heard from quite a few people tht Valerie Tripp is a very great author to speak with. One member who spoke with her also got one of the first tip-offs that Emily was the next friend doll when we had all thought it was going be Ruthie.
Also, what is the Memories with Mom event? Sounds interesting.

I've never been to AGP when Valerie Tripp was there, but I was at AGPC when the author of the Skye O'Shea books was there, and the lines weren't very long. That might be different for Valerie Tripp, though.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Thank you for the info on Mary Casanova! I haven't read either the GOML or Jess books, so that's why I didn't know.

Here is the link explaining the Memories with Mom event: http://www.americangirlplace.com/agp_la_events_mom.php

And here is the link that's supposed to show all AGPLA events:
http://www.americangirlplace.com/agp_la_events.php

They need to update their events link more often, since the Mary Casanova visit is coming up very soon.

How exciting! I really wish I could go, but AGPLA is so far away from where I live.

I love her books- she's such a great author!
